A well-defined miniature specimen of barite from Cerro Huarihuayín, characterized by pronounced stepped crystal growth.
The specimen consists of intergrown tabular crystals forming a compact, layered structure. The stepped development creates a rhythmic pattern across the crystal faces, with visible internal zoning and a warm amber to honey coloration.
The piece is complete and undamaged, preserving the integrity of the crystal edges and terminations. Its self-contained form and balanced proportions give it a strong sculptural presence despite its modest size.
Examples combining this degree of structural definition with clean condition are not common for the locality, particularly in miniature format.
Material from Cerro Huarihuayín has appeared on the market only intermittently, and well-preserved miniature examples are not consistently available. As such, specimens from this locality are of particular interest to collectors focused on Peruvian occurrences.
